Essentially, I write anything that has a commercial objective in mind and for which somebody can supply a brief. Although occasionally I write that as well.
Good copywriting is there to get across messages in an engaging and credible way, in as few words as possible.
That requires creativity and a way with words, but also a lot of business sense and the ability to grasp that target market very quickly. (Sadly for us copywriters, if the reader notices the copywriting then it probably hasn’t worked.)
